On Thursday, 12th March, we were visited by four peer reviewers.
- Jane Hemery (Lead Independent Reviewer) - Primary Lead for School Improvement at The Pope Francis Catholic MAC
- Nicky Hughes - RLT Support & Challenge Partner (not linked to the school)
- Kate Robertson - Headteacher of Charlbury Primary School
- Chris Tupling - Deputy Headteacher of Edward Feild Primary School
As a school, we asked the reviewers to focus on the following questions:
- Over the last year, we have been working to improve writing across the school. What impact has this had on the teaching and attainment of writing?
- We have recently looked at improving the teaching of reading in Reading from Yr2 to Yr6, with a focus on increasing fluency as a first step. Are our plans robust and being implemented as intended from the outset?
- What could be our next step in improving the teaching of Mathematics in the future?
- What more could we do to help children feel they belong at the school?
With all the questions we asked, what could our next steps be, particularly for disadvantaged children?
