When your child is unwell, it can be hard to decide whether to keep them off school.
A few simple guidelines can help
Would you take a day off work if you had this condition? If so, keep your child at home.

Not every illness needs to keep your child from school. If you keep your child away from school, be sure to inform the school by email or phone the school office on each day of their absence. If we don't hear from you, we will carry out a home visit to make sure you and your family are safe.
Use common sense when deciding whether your child is too ill to attend school. The following guidance explains the conditions under which a child can have and attend school and the illnesses for which we need your child to stay at home and for how long.
If you are unsure send your child to school. We will always contact you if they are too ill to stay in school. We can also administer paracetamol and ibuprofen and prescription medication with your permission.
