Welcome to Our New Staff

Introducing Sara Zumbuhl

I am a trained Counsellor and my objective is to encourage all of us (staff and children) to become better listeners which will lead to increased empathy and understanding of other people's lives and experiences. Larkrise is a happy and diverse school and I am keen to find ways to optimise the positive experiences that children have whilst opening the door to new ones!

I am here to listen to worries and concerns using an Integrative approach; I offer Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Psychodynamic play approaches, Solution focussed therapy and Motivational Interviewing amongst other therapeutic approaches.

I also offer support to families so that we can together look at any barriers to children’s learning.

Introducing Barbara Scheibel

I am the new nursery teacher. This will be my first year teaching at Larkrise but my fourth year teaching. I am so excited for all of the fun, learning, and exploring we will get to have this year!

I actually became a teacher in the United States but moved to England about two years ago, so if my accent sounds a bit funny, that’s why!

I received my bachelor’s degree in Childhood Education in 2015 at the State University of New York at Oswego, and my master’s degree in Creative Writing with a focus in fiction for young readers in 2020 at the University of Roehampton.

I absolutely love reading and writing, so I can’t wait to share that with you! Some other things I love are dogs, being outside, playing games, going on holidays, mac n cheese, and the color pink! Do we have anything in common?

I hope you’ve had a fun summer and I can’t wait to meet all of you! I am so excited to be your nursery teacher. See you soon!
