Remote Learning
Children may be absent from school because the school has closed due to an unforeseen incident such as extreme weather conditions or heating or water issues.
For the above reasons, we have chosen to use provisions from Oak National Academy for when children at Larkrise require remote learning. We know this is high quality and we have carefully selected lessons which complement our curriculum and will be relevant and supportive to each child, regardless of the learning happening in class whilst they are absent.
Class teachers are best placed to support children to catch up on anything they have missed, once they return. The lessons provided for children at home in the meantime will support learning more broadly, as they incorporate life-long learning skills such as telling the time as well as reinforcing topics, themes and ideas taught as part of the Inspire Curriculum.
The basics can continue to be kept ticking over by using the online subscriptions we currently offer, including Bug Club and Times Tables Rock Stars. We of course recommend more highly than anything that children read as much as they are able while absent from school.
Otherwise, please follow the daily lessons planned for your child(ren)’s Year Group(s), by clicking the relevant links each day. You can contact teachers via Google Classroom or the school office on parents@larkriseprimary.org and we will do our best to support you with any aspect of Remote Learning that we can.
